University of Toronto CS Department, Ambassador

2024-2025

Appointed as the lead in my senior year, I led a team of 4 student ambassadors to represent the department and support academic and co-curricular student experiences. I helped reform the ambassadors program to focus more heavily on mentorship, and my team’s accomplishments include the following.

  • Helped 50+ students via weekly drop-in sessions for resume reviews over the course of 3 months
  • Supported 19 department events via staffing booths, speaking on panels, handling logistics, etc
  • Compiled 270+ CS-related job postings and program opportunities for the department’s career board
  • Published 9 articles/guides on the ambassadors website related to career support and student life

2023-2024

As one of 6 chosent student ambassadors, I represented the department and led initiatives specifically for career development.

  • Started and managed the department’s first peer mentoring program to connect upper-year students with first- and second-years via informal coffee chats
  • Conducted weekly mock technical interviews virtually over Zoom
  • Hosted resume reviews and Q&A sessions on an on-demand basis
  • Updated the department’s job board with internship and new grad opportunities every week
  • Presented at outreach events like Fall Campus Day 2023 and Program Exploration Day 2024
  • Helped prepare for departmental events like Alumni-Student Mentorship Orientation and Convocation
  • Led campus tours for visiting prospective students and their families

2022-2023

I was invited as a student speaker for the department presentation at the university’s open house event known as the Fall Campus Day. As a guide, I also led campus tours around the CS buildings and facilities in groups of 30-50 for prospective students and their families.
